Functional Connectivity under Optogenetic Control Allows Modeling of Human Neuromuscular Disease

Bhaskar Chanda Stem Cell Steinbeck and colleagues use optogenetics in human spinal motorneurons to establish a functional neuromuscular junction with co-cultured skeletal muscle in vitro and then apply this system for phenotypic analysis of an autoimmune disease.
